In April of this year, Indonesian officials outlined plans for a limited free trade agreement with the United States. The agreement stipulates that electric vehicles produced using Indonesian nickel would qualify for U.S. clean car credit requirements outlined in the Inflation Reduction Act. U.S. officials have not yet explicitly confirmed the trade agreement with Indonesia.
